Shillong, Sept 19: Meghalaya reported 112 new COVID-19 positive cases while 46 patients recovered from the viral infection on Saturday.
Two more patients have also succumbed to COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the total deaths to 36.
With 112 new cases, the total COVID-19 cases to 4,557 which include 2,038 active cases, 2483 persons who have recovered, and 36 deaths.
East Khasi Hills district recorded the highest number of active cases with 1,433 (237 Armed Forces/Paramilitary forces, and 1,196 others), 275 in East Jaiñtia Hills district and 141 in West Garo Hills district.
The new cases were 87 from East Khasi Hills district, 18 from West Garo Hills, four from Ri Bhoi, one each from East Jaiñtia Hills, West Jaiñtia Hills and South West Garo Hills district.
The 46 patients who have recovered on Saturday include 20 from East Khasi Hills district, 10 each from West Garo Hills district, and South Garo Hills district, five from East Jaiñtia Hills and one from Ri Bhoi district.
