Shillong, Dec. 5: On the occasion of the 61st Raising Day of Civil Defence and Home Guards, 3 officers, 5 personnel from the Meghalaya Civil Defence & Home Guards, and 2 Home Guards volunteers were honored with Commendation Discs and Certificates from the Director General (DG) of Fire Services, Home Guards, and Civil Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi.
Shri PH Khongsngi, Commandant of the Border Wing Home Guards Battalion, received the prestigious DGCD Gold Disc. Shri B Sahkhar, 2nd in Command of the Border Wing Home Guards Battalion, and Smti S Langstieh, Superintendent of the Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guards, Meghalaya, were awarded the DGCD Silver Disc. Shri SCR Sangma, Deputy Controller of Civil Defence in West Garo Hills District, was recognized with the Bronze Disc.
Additionally, four other uniformed personnel and 2 Home Guards volunteers were honored with the DGCD Bronze Disc. In total, 211 Commendation Discs and Certificates were distributed on the occasion of the 62nd Raising Day of Civil Defence and Home Guards, including 1 Gold Disc, 8 Silver Discs, and 202 Bronze Discs.
