5-km run organised to observe Vigilance Awareness Week

Shillong, Oct 26: Department of Telecommunications (DoT), North East Licence Service Area (LSA), Shillong on Tuesday organised a 5 km Shillong city run on the occasion of observation of Vigilance Awareness Week-2021.

The run was led by Rephica Becky Pde, a renowned ultra-marathon runner from Shillong.

Around 50 people participated in the run including senior officers from the Department of Telecommunications.

The run commenced at 6 am from CTO Building opposite Governor House Shillong and concluded at 6:45 am at the same point.

On the route, it covered Lady Hydari Park, Malki Point, Don Bosco Square and Gold Gym.

To grace the occasion, Ajay Kumar Sahu, Senior Deputy Director General, KVK Prasad Rao, Deputy Director General (Administration), Ashok Kumar Jain, Deputy Director General (Compliance), Dilip Kumar, Deputy Director General (Rural); Rajesh Kumar Maheshwari, Deputy Director General (Security) and other officers were present from DoT North-East, LSA in addition to KS Madanpuri, Chief General Manager BSNL.

Vigilance awareness week is being observed from October 26 to November 1 with the theme “Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity”.
