AITC spokesman files complaint against Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister

SHILLONG, DEC 10: The opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) national spokesperson Saket Gokhale has lodged a complaint against Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong for calling him a “psycho”.

The complaint was filed before East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger on Saturday.

Gokhale said, “On 06/12/2022, the accused made a statement in the press referring to the undersigned as a “psycho”. This statement was covered extensively by the media in Meghalaya as well as nationally. The undersigned is a public figure and has a stellar reputation. By insinuating that the mental state of the undersigned is improper, the accused has committed criminal defamation against the undersigned which is liable for prosecution u/s 499 of the IPC.”

He requested the SP to immediately register a complaint on the matter.
