Shillong, Jan 3: One of the regional committees on the Assam-Meghalaya border dispute shared their reports and held discussion in Shillong, on Monday.

The Ri-Bhoi regional committee led by Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong and Pijush Hazarika Assam Minister exchanged their reports and also held discussions as part of the ongoing mission to resolve the border differences.

“The Assam government has the report made by Meghalaya government and vice-versa. We have gone through it. Again detailed discussions were also held and I must share that it was a positive one,” Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said.

Sangma also said that there will be another round of Chef Ministerial level meetings and that’s when the final decisions will take place.

The Chief Minister of Meghalaya hoped that the meeting will be held in the next week and the final outcome at least for the first phase will be taken up.

Sangma also said that on Tuesday the regional committees of West Khasi Hills district (Meghalaya) led by Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar and Kamrup (Assam) led by Atul Bora will be meeting in Guwahati.
