Shillong, May 18: The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to develop the backbone necessary to support the integrated digital health infrastructure of the country.
ABDM will bridge the existing gap amongst different stakeholders of the Healthcare ecosystem through digital highways.
According to National Health Mission, Mission Director, Ram Kumar S, the implementation of ABDM is expected to significantly improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of health service delivery overall.
“Patients will be able to securely store and access their medical records (such as prescriptions, diagnostic reports and discharge summaries), and share them with health care providers to ensure appropriate treatment and follow-up,†Kumar said.
The NHM Mission Director said that patients will also have access to more accurate information on health facilities and service providers.
“Further, they will have the option to access health services remotely through tele-consultation and e-pharmacy. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will empower individuals with accurate information to enable informed decision making and increase accountability of healthcare providers,†he added.
ABDM is being implemented in Meghalaya under the State as Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
In order to streamline the mission, a two-day training programme will be held on May 19 and 20 at MATI, Mawdiangdiang, New Shillong.
The trainees and stakeholders will comprise of the Superintendents of the Public Health Facilities, Doctors from CHCs, PHCs, State Dispensaries and Private Hospitals as well as officers and staff from the Directorate of Health Services and National Health Mission, Meghalaya with a total of 340 participants.
The trainers in this training are from the National Health Authority, Government of India.
This training will be on the creation of Health Facility Registry (HRF), Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR) and creation of Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID or in short Health ID for all population of the State.
The output of the training will be Orientation of Digital Health, Creation of Digital Health IDs for citizens of the State, namely, Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), Creation of Health Facility Registry (HFR) and updation of Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR).
