Campaign 'Khadi Mahotsav' with the tag line "Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion" celebrated

 

Shillong, Nov, 8: A Special Campaign titled ‘Khadi Mahotsav’ with the tag line “Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion” is being celebrated from this year onwards across the State during 2nd October to 3lst October. The objective of the Khadi Mahotsav-23 is to promote Khadi, Village Industries, Handloom & Handicraft products, ODOP products and products of various traditional & cottage industries being manufactured locally in the State and to further promote the idea of “Vocal for Local” campaign and ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.

On this auspicious occasion, State Office, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Shillong (Meghalaya) has been conducting various programs like Seminars, Khadi Yatras, Khadi Charchas, Khadi Pledge & Mini-Exhibitions under Khadi Mahotsav. A Seminar, Khadi-Pledge, Khadi Charcha, Khadi Yatra and Two-Day Mini Exhibition is being organized by this ornce on the 13th & 14th october, 2023 at NIFF, Mawdiangdiang, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong (Meghalaya) wherein 6 no, of stalls are being displayed by covering (Khadi, Village Industries, Handicrafts, PMEGP, ODOP, SHGs, etc.)” The Aftisans have pafticipated and displayed their products (cum sale) on the occasion of Khadi Mahotsav-2023.

The Mini-Exhibition was being inaugurated by the Joint Director & COE (Incharge), Mr. Febby D Shanpru, National Institute of Fashion & Technology (NIFT), Mawdiangdiang, Shillong, in the presence of Shri Mange Ram, State Director, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Shillong (Meghalaya), other Officials/Staff including the exhibitors. During inaugurating, Shri. Febby D Shanry:u, had an interaction with all the exhibitors and also the various schemes of KVIC that are being implemented and were explained by the State Director, l(/IC, Shillong, All the exhibitors were acknowledged for their contribution towards the “Vocal for Local” Campaign and praised for promoting the growth and economy of the country by the KVIC.
