Shillong, June 20: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma along with MLA of Mawsynram Hima Shangpliang and MDC Alwin Sawkimie and other senior officials on Monday visited Dagar & Kynmynsaw under Mawsynram Block in East Khasi Hills and visited families of those killed in the recent landslides.
He also handed over the sanction letter of the financial assistance an ex-gratia of 4 lakh per deceased to the next of kin .
In a landslide at Dangar, 5 people had lost their lives including 4 minor children and at Kynmynsaw husband wife duo lost their lives in landslides, leaving behind three children.
During his visit to the area, CM met village leaders and assured all assistances to the affected area.
He also assured that Govt is working to ensure that electricity and mobile connectivity is restored in the affected areas.
