Shillong, Sep 3: Ryntih Sports Club which has gained entry into the Hero I-League Qualifiers 2021 has said that the core of the team will consist of local players and most of them are experienced.
Managing Director of the Club Wallamkupar Kharpran said that the team has been clubbed in a group which has strong teams and the club will have to win each and every game to the main draw of the I-League.
“We have players who are well set and have quality. The players have experience at the I-League level and now it all boils down to their spirit while playing,†Kharpran said.
He also said that Ryntih SC will always give local players a chance and they will be the ones who will give their everything to win the Second Division I-League and gain entry to I-League.
The club has also roped in Chesterpaul Lyngdoh who have played in the I-League for teams like Real Kashmir, Churchill Brothers and Mohun Bagan before returning back to Shillong.
Kharpran said that Chesterpaul joining the club will be an asset for the Club as well as the state.
Ten teams, divided into two groups of five each, will compete for promotion to Hero I-League 2021-22 season.
In their opening match, Ryntih SC will face Rajasthan United on October 4, on October 6 Ryntih SC will face Hyderya Kashmir FC, on October 11 Ryntih SC will face FC Bengaluru United and on October 13 Ryntih SC will play against Madan Maharaj FC.
