COVID-19: Active cases in Meghalaya comes down to 18

State seeing sudden spurt in COVID cases, 42 recorded on Friday

Shillong, Feb 24: The number of active cases in the state has come down to 18 after recovered cases outnumbered the fresh one in the last few days.

On Wednesday, the state recorded three fresh cases and five recovered from the virus, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed.

Apart from East Khasi Hills which has 14 active cases, the other districts are West Khasi Hills – one, East Jaintia Hills – two and South West Garo Hills – one.

Dr. War also informed that on Wednesday approximately, 1400 samples were tested.

The Director of Health Services (MI) informed that till Wednesday afternoon 3, 64, 517 persons were tested for COVID-19 of which 3, 50, 559 were negative.

Dr. War informed that till date a total of 92, 927 persons have entered the state from other states of the country as well as outside.

The Director of Health Services also informed that Total number of healthcare workers vaccinated till February 24, is 12,883 (first dose) and 1709 (second dose).

Dr. war also informed that the total number of frontline workers vaccinated till 19,458 (first dose) were vaccinated.
