Shillong, Jan 15 – Four new COVID-19 cases took the active tally up to 161, while four more recoveries from the viral infection surged the number of recoveries to 13,386 in Meghalaya on Friday.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said the new COVID-19 cases detected on Friday were three in East Khasi Hills district and one in West Jaintia Hills district.
He said the four recoveries from the viral disease registered today were all from the East Khasi Hills district, including one from among the armed forces.
Till date, the total number of samples tested stands at 3,15,290 out of which 3,01,599 have tested negative, he said.
The total confirmed COVID 19 cases amount to 13,691 while 13,386 have recovered, 161 are still active and 144 deaths.
East Khasi Hills district remains as the most affected with 103 cases. As of date, South West Khasi Hills, South West Garo Hills and East Garo Hills are free from the virus.
