COVID-19: Meghalaya records 2 new deaths, 187 fresh infections

235 recovers in Meghalaya, 79 fresh COVID cases detected

Shillong, Apr 29: The state on Thursday recorded two more COVID-19 related deaths, 187 new infections and 129 recovered from the virus.

With this, the total number of fatalities has gone upto 169, total active cases is 1,531 and the total number of recovered cases is 14,917.

According to the immediate reports the two deaths reported were East Khasi Hills district.

Of the 187 new cases – East Khasi Hills recorded 141, West Khasi Hills 04, Ri-Bhoi 18, West Garo Hills 10, South Garo Hills 02, East Jaintia Hills 06, south Garo Hills 02, South West Khasi hills 01 and 04 each in West Jaintia Hills two each and West Khasi Hills .

East Khasi Hills district has the highest number of active cases with 1,094, Ri-Bhoi 155, West Jaintia Hills 82, East Jaintia Hills 68, West Garo Hills 67, West Khasi Hills 32, South West Khasi Hills 12, South Garo Hills 09, East Garo Hills 06, South West Garo Hills 04 and North Garo Hills 02.
