COVID-19: Four new cases, four recoveries

Shillong, Jan 12: The State on Tuesday recorded 21 fresh COVID-19 cases and 20 recovered from the viral infection.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that with the fresh cases the active ones have gone to 152 and the total recoveries stands at 13356.

Of the 21 new cases 18 were recorded in East Khasi Hills, two in Ri-Bhoi and one in East Jaintia Hills.

Of the 20 new recovered cases – 17 were recorded in East Khasi Hills two in Ri-Bhoi and one in West Garo Hills.

The number of persons tested for COVID-19 till date is 3, 10, 487 out of which 2, 96, 836 yielded negative results.

Dr. War also informed that till date a total number of 82, 035 persons entered Meghalaya since travelling was eased.

The state has so far recorded 13651 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic hit Meghalaya out of which 13356 have recovered, 152 are active cases and 143 have died of the virus.

East Khasi Hills, the most affected district has 112 active cases and 117 fatalities till date.
