Covid-19 updates : 450 new cases in Meghalaya, nine more deaths

‘Covid-19 cases in the state could be upto 25 times the numbers recorded’

Shillong, May 11: Meghalaya records 450 new positive cases, 206 new recovered cases on Tuesday.

Nine more succumbs to the infections, taking total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection to 242 on Tuesday.

Health authorities informed that the total Covid active cases in the state is now 3,297 and 17,040 have recovered from the virus.

Meanwhile, in addition to 450 new cases, the state also recorded 206 recoveries.

 

The deaths recorded were of Paroti Lato (49) female of Mawprem, East Khasi Hills, Michin Rymbai (52) female of Khliehtyrshi, West Jaintia Hills, Zingim Luikham (94) male of Dhankheti, East Khasi Hills, Ribhalang Sangot (38) female of Mawlai Umshorshor, East Khasi Hills, Marween Syiem (58) female of Jaiaw Lumsyntiew, East Khasi Hills, Augustine Lyngdoh Kynshi (58) male of Pyndengumiong, Mairang, West Khasi Hills district, Kornel Marak (72) male of Maikhuli, Byrnihat, Ri-Bhoi district, Bukarson Sangma (67) male of 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong, East Khasi Hills district and Phris Starwell Rymmai (29) male of Rymbai, East Jaintia Hills district.

Health authorities also informed that the total persons vaccinated today is 10,599.

The total doses administered till date is 3,65,031 (both first and second dose).
