COVID-19: With two more fatalities, death tally rises to 169 in Meghalaya

Meghalaya records two more Covid fatalities

Shillong, Apr 29: The state on Thursday recorded two more Covid-19 fatalities taking the number of deaths since the pandemic started to 169.

According to health authorities both the deaths were recorded in East Khasi Hills district.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the first death recorded was that of one Riangkhwat Khonglah 58 year-old male of Huroi Village, East Jaintia Hills district.

Dr. War informed that he was admitted to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong on April 29 at around 1:59 am and expired at around 2.30 am.

His cause of death is Covid 19 Pneumonia with Hypertension.

The second deceased person was one Joplin Dkhar 64 year old female of Nongkseh, Shillong.

Dkhar was admitted in NEIGRIHMS Hospital, Shillong on April 28 and expired on April 29 at 4:10 am.

Her cause of death was severe Covid Pneumonia with Type I Respiratory Failure.

Dr. War also informed that till Thursday, a total of 1,66,583 citizens of Meghalaya has been vaccinated.
