COVID: Meghalaya records one more death, 70 new cases, 172 recoveries

Meghalaya records two more Covid fatalities

Shillong, Oct 27: The State on Tuesday recorded 70 new COVID-19 cases, 172 recovered of the viral infection while the death toll rose to 82 after a 60-year-old woman succumbed due to the viral infection.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the deceased has been identified as Phul Dkhar (60), of Umpling Dongshaneng, Shillong.

Dr, War informed that she was admitted in Shillong Civil Hospital on October 25 at around 3:15 pm and tested COVID positive on admission. She expired on the same day at about 8:25 pm.

The Director of Health Services informed that her cause of death was cardiac arrest with acute pulmonary oedema with severe anaemia with hypertension.

Of the 70 new cases, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that East Khasi Hills recorded 41 – (armed and paramilitary forces one, others 40), West Garo Hills 14 (armed/paramilitary seven and others seven), East Jaintia Hills, South Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills reported five new cases each.

Dr. War also informed that of the new recovered cases East Khasi Hills recorded 100 (armed/paramilitary forces one and others 99), Ri-Bhoi 41, West Garo Hills 16, East Garo Hills six, North Garo Hills three, South Garo Hills three, West Jaintia Hills two and West Khasi Hills one.
