COVID: State records 155 new infections and 116 recovers

State records another COVID-19 death, tolls rises to 150

Shillong, Nov 8: The State is again recording more number of new COVID cases than recoveries for the second consecutive day.

According to Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War, on Sunday, the State registered 155 new COVID cases and 116 persons recovered from the viral infection.

With this the state now has 1034 active cases and 9075 have recovered from the virus till date.

Dr. War informed that of the 155 new cases East Khasi Hills registered 69 new infections, Ri-Bhoi 61, West Garo Hills 11, East Garo Hills seven, South Garo Hills five and West Jaintia Hills two.

The Director of Health Services informed that of the 116 recovered cases recorded on Sunday, West Garo Hills recorded 30, Ri-Bhoi 29, East Khasi Hills 27, East Garo Hills 13, South Garo Hills eight, West Jaintia Hills seven, South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills one each.

The breakup of the new cases are, East Khasi Hills – high risk contacts 24, influenza like illness one, Mawprem cluster one, Madanryting cluster one, Jaiaw cluster 41 and police personnel one.

Ri-Bhoi – high risk contacts 11, police personnel 50, West Garo Hills returnee three, high risk contacts eight, East Garo Hills high risk contacts seven, South Garo Hills high risk contacts five, West Jaintia Hills – high risk contacts one and influenza like illness one.
