Death toll due to COVID climbs up to 59 with five more deaths in Meghalaya

Shillong, Oct 05: Five more death due to COVID-19 were confirmed in Meghalaya on Monday . With this, the death toll due to COVID-19 has risen to 59 in the state, even as 111 new positive cases and 98 recoveries were recorded.

The 111 new cases took the number of active cases to 2,217 and a total recovery of 4,491.

DHS (MI) Dr. Aman Warr informed on Monday evening that the new cases include 72 from East Khasi Hills district, 19 from Ri Bhoi district, 10 from East Jaintia Hills  district, 06 from West Garo Hills district, 02 from West Jaintia  Hills district, 01 each from South West Garo Hills district and South West Khasi Hills district , all 111 new positive cases were civilians.

Among  98 new recoveries, 82 are from East Khasi Hills district, 07 from Ri-Bhoi district, 05 from East Jaintia Hills 11, 03 from West Garo Hills  district and 01 West Khasi Hills district.

Till date, Meghalaya has registered a total of 6,767 COVID 19 cases out of which 2,217  are active, 59 deceased and 4,491 recoveries.
