Death toll due to COVID climbs up to 61 with one more death in Meghalaya

235 recovers in Meghalaya, 79 fresh COVID cases detected

Shillong, Oct 09: Five more death due to COVID-19 were confirmed in Meghalaya on Friday . With this, the death toll due to COVID-19 has risen to 61 in the state, even as 127 new positive cases and 71 recoveries were recorded.

One Phlabia Sun 56 yrs (F) from ICAR Pyllun Damsite succumbs to deadly infection. She was  admitted in Civil Hospital, Shillong on September last, which was later declared COVID 19 positive on September 25 last month . Expired on Thursday at around 8:30pm.

The patient were diagnosed as ARDS with septic shock with covid 19 with Cancer.

The 127 new cases took the number of active cases to 2,424 and a total recovery of 4,903.

The new cases include 95 from East Khasi Hills district, 08 from Ri Bhoi district, 02  from East Jaintia Hills district, 06 from West Garo Hills district , 05 from South Garo Hills, 04 from North Garo Hills district  and 02 from East Jaintia Hills district

Among 71 new recoveries, 33 are from East Khasi Hills district, 05  from Ri-Bhoi district, 29 from West Garo Hills district and 02 each from East Garo hills  and South West Garo Hills district.

Till date, Meghalaya has registered a total of 7,388 COVID 19 cases out of which 2,424 are active, 61 deceased and 4,903 recoveries.
