Death toll due to COVID climbs up to 64 with one more death in Meghalaya

235 recovers in Meghalaya, 79 fresh COVID cases detected

Shillong, Oct 12: One more death due to COVID-19 were confirmed in Meghalaya on Monday . With this, the death toll due to COVID-19 has risen to 64 in the state, even as 88 new positive cases and 131 recoveries were recorded.

The 88 new cases took the number of active cases to 2,434 and a total recovery of 5,273.

The new cases include 50 from East Khasi Hills district,  26 from West Jaintia Hills district, 10 from West Garo Hills district and 01 each from Ri Bhoi district and East Jaintia Hills district.

Among 131 new recoveries, 86 are from East Khasi Hills district,   07 from Ri-Bhoi district, 06 from North Garo hills district, 05 from East Jaintia Hills district,   04 from West Garo Hills district, 01 from West Jaintia Hills district  and and 11 each  from South West Garo Hills district and South West Khasi Hills district.

Till date, Meghalaya has registered a total of 7,771 COVID 19 cases out of which 2,434 are active, 64 deceased and 5,273 recoveries.
