Shillong, May 10: State Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that the State is now seeing cases across the state.
“The situation is grim. We are therefore advising people to stay indoors. Homes are the safest place,” Dr. War told reporters on Monday.
Stating that the health care workers are “working 24X7”, the top medical officials appealed to the citizens to follow protocols so as not to burden the health workers.
“The fight is on. Your safest place is your home. Don’t come out unnecessarily. The more you come out the more you give a chance for this virus to spread. Self discipline is what we need at this hour and with that we will be able to combat this pandemic and this particular wave now,” Dr. War underscored.
“Those who are critical are the ones who have not taken vaccination but those who have taken the vaccination are less affected if tested positive – this is for 45 years and above,”he pointed out.
“The immunity of 45 years and below is strong but we cannot be complacent as we have seen those who are co-morbid are affected,” Dr. War added.
