Former NPP and UDP leaders from Garo Hills join TMC

Meghalaya TMC strengthens its base with the induction of former NPP MDC, Sengnal N. Sangma from Wagesik ADC and, former UDP MDC contestant from Silkigre ADC, Bishal Arengh, into the party fold. In the presence of Trinamool Congress Legislature Party Leader & Leader of Opposition, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Dr. Mukul Sangma, State Mahila President Selma D Shira and, other significant party leaders, they joined the party.

Welcoming the new leaders into the party fold, Dr. Mukul Sangma said, he believe that all of his colleague will work sincerely together. After 5 years of misrule, NPP-led MDA’s tenure will be over and that’s why they have to constitute a fresh assembly in the next session, for that, Meghalaya Trinamool Congress will contest on all the 60 seats.

Commenting on the MDA government’s mistreatment of the state and the people, Dr. Sangma said, “In every corner and crevice of the state, we can hear people talking about the pain and suffering the current administration has caused them. People’s desire to change the government is quite apparent because they are aware of the consequences if these individuals continue to hold office”.

Dr. Sangma further added, “There is a hunger for change in the state. It is our duty as elected representatives to be able to respond to the collective desire for change. Our biggest duty is to fulfill the mandates given to us by the people.”

Upon joining the party, Sengnal N Sangma said, “I am joining Meghalaya TMC today to work with the visionary leader, Dr. Mukul Sangma. He is not only a man of principle but also a leader who has always fulfilled his responsibilities with utmost dedication”.
