Government to grant DGP leave as his desire

Shillong, Sep 13: Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma informed that the Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP), R. Chandranathan will be given leave as per his desire.

Sangma told journalists that Chandranathan had met him and “specifically” told that “he had applied for leave”.

He said that there is a process involved in processing a leave application.

“A system is followed in order to process it. So that process is going on. As soon as the procedure is over, his leave as per his desire will be given,” Sangma said.

When asked on the timing of the leave applied by the DGP, the Chief Minister said that people can question in many ways.

He pointed out that if an individual desires to go on a leave it could be for health ground or for personal reasons.

Sangma said that as a government employee he is entitled to and as a government he should be given leave if he is entitled to it.
