Hek says Central leadership will decide on withdrawing support from MDA Govt

Surge in COVID-19: Govt rules out possibility of complete lockdown

Shillong, Sept 14: Health Minister and BJP leader, A L Hek informed that he will urge the State Government to have a proper inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of the Central funds in the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) and Garo Hills Autonomous District Councils (GHADC) and made it clear that any decision to come out of government should come from the Central leadership.

Hek said that he would write to Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma to look into this matter since the party has come out with facts and figures in connection with the allegations in both the JHADC and GHADC.

Whether the BJP would withdraw support from the NPP-led MDA government, Hek said that the State leadership would not be able take a final call on this matter.

“We will have to apprise the Central party leadership if party leadership in the State feels that the situation warrants to withdraw support from the present MDA Government. A final decision on withdrawing of support will depend on the party central leadership,” BJP MLA said.

On the war of words between the BJP State president, Ernest Mawrie and NPP State president, Hek said “‘It does not look good to continue with their war of words and we should not forget that both the BJP and NPP are part of the coalition government in the State.”

Hek also informed that he had spoken to the JHADC Chief Executive Member, to induct the BJP MDCs as an Executive Member and the CEM has assured to look into the matter.
