Shillong, Oct 12: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Tuesday said that it will form a coordination committee along with the Garo State Movement Committee (GSMC) to carry forward their demands for separate Garo and Khasi-Jaintia state.
“We will move together to demand for separate States. For Garoland we will support them and for our demand for Khasi-Jaintia State they will support us,” HSPDP president K. P. Pangniang told reporters after the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting.
Pangniang also said that the coordination committee will also submit joint memorandum and will together meet the central government to push their demands for separate States.
The HSPDP president also said that apart from coordinating in the State, the party will also join hands with 18 other groups at the national level who are having similar demands.
