SHILLONG, OCT 12: For the first time, Meghalaya is all set to host the International Tourism Mart (ITM) from November 21 to 23.
Announcing this on Thursday, Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh informed that the 11th edition of the ITM will take place in Shillong for three days.
“This is a very important landmark even because it will be for the first time that Shillong will be hosting the ITM,” he said.
Union Tourism Minister GK Reddy will inaugurate the ITM, which wil be participated by all states of the North East region.
“We will have international participants from different countries who will be introduced to our crafts, our tourist spots, the activities that we have, the tour operators will be involved – so all stakeholders will be part of this,” Lyngdoh said while adding that through the event, the department will be able to showcase Meghalaya as a tourist hub at the international level.
