SHILLONG, FEB 20: Former home minister and UDP candidate HDR Lyngdoh passed away at a city hospital due to cardiac arrest on Monday.
Lyngdoh was a former five-time legislator of Sohiong constituency.
He quit the Congress and joined the UDP for contesting the upcoming Assembly polls to be held on February 27.
Meanwhile, elections will now be held only in 59 seats due to Lyngdoh passing away.
Meghalaya chief electoral officer (CEO) FR Kharkongor said that the poll process in Sohiong constituency is likely to be adjourned.
