Meghalaya government signs agreement with National Insurance Company Limited for implementation of MHIS

Shillong, Aug 25: The Government of Meghalaya signed an Agreement with the National Insurance Company Limited, a general health insurance company in India, for the implementation of Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) Phase 5 & Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) on the August 24 at Shillong.

Ramkumar S, CEO Megha Health Insurance Scheme and Additional Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Meghalaya and L. S. Puni Isaac, Assistant Manager, National Insurance Company Limited signed it on behalf of the insurance company in the presence of Health Minister of Meghalaya, James P.K Sangma and other dignitaries.

The insurance cover for MHIS 5 – PMJAY has increased from Rs. 5,00,000 to Rs. 5,30,000 with an expanded list of benefits that will be available under the scheme. All eligible beneficiaries belonging to Meghalaya excluding state and central government employees can avail the benefits.

Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) Phase 5 & Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) will commence on September 1,2022.
