Meghalaya has 50 COVID-19 active cases

COVID: Meghalaya records 26 fresh cases, 23 recovers from the virus

Shillong, Apr 1: The State recorded two new COVID-19 cases taking the number of active cases to 50 even as one person recovered from the virus on Thursday, health authorities informed.

The total number of recovered cases in the state till Thursday afternoon is 13867.

The two new cases (Armed Force/Paramilitary Forces- one, others- one) as well as the recovered cases were recorded in East Khasi Hills district.

East Khasi Hills district and West Garo Hills district have 22 active cases each and Ri-Bhoi district has six cases.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the total number of persons tested Thursday afternoon is 4,05,249 out of which 3,91,182 were negative and 14067 were confirmed cases.


Dr. War informed that the vaccination achievement for health care workers till date is 22,346 for the first dose out of which 14,972 have received their second dose.

The Director of Health Services informed that for frontline workers a total of 32,476 persons have been administered the first dose of Covishield vaccine out of which 17,761 have received their second dose.

Meanwhile, vaccination achievement for the general public based on the eligible age group till Thursday afternoon is 27,761 (first dose).
