Shillong, Aug 31: Meghalaya kick-boxers won six medals in the recently concluded WAKO India Seniors & Masters National Kickboxing Championship 2021.
The Championship was held at Sport Complex, Dayanand Bandodkar Stadium, Mapusa, Goa from August 26th to 29th.
This Championship is also the first stage selection for the 6th Asian Indoor Martial Arts & Games to be held at Bangkok Chonburi from March 10th to 2022 as well as for the World Kickboxing Championship in October at Italy.
The state’s players won one gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
Hame Shaniah Suiam won gold in the Senior Men Point Figting 57 kg and silver in the Senior Men Point Figting -63 kg.
Nisanshwa Lyngdoh (Senior Women K1 -48 kg), Bantei Sungoh (Senior Men Low Kick – 60 kg), Arthur Cornelli N K (Senior Men K1 – 75 kg) and Pynnehbor Mylliemngap (Senior Men Musical Form Hard Style) won bronze.
