Meghalaya records 19 fresh COVID-19 cases, 27 recovers

Shillong, Jan 10: The state on Sunday recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19 infection adding up to 155 active cases and 27 more recoveries from the viral disease surged the recovery figure up to 13313 in Meghalaya on Sunday.

Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said the new COVID-19 positive cases detected in the State today included 16 in East Khasi Hills district, two in West Jaintia Hills district and one in West Garo Hills district.

East Khasi Hills, which includes Shillong, is the most affected district in the State with 112 active COVID-19 cases and 117 deaths related to the viral disease, while the case counts in the ten other districts are much lower.

Meanwhile, the cases of recovery from the viral infection recorded on Sunday included 26 in the East Khasi Hills district and one in the West Garo Hills district.

Meghalaya has so far registered 13,611 COVID-19 cases, including 143 deaths, 155 active cases and 13,313 recoveries.
