Meghalaya records five new COVID-19 cases and 22 recoveries

State seeing sudden spurt in COVID cases, 42 recorded on Friday

Shillong, Feb 14: The state on Sunday recorded five new COVID-19 cases and 22 recovered from the virus.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that with the latest figures the number of active cases is now 149 and the total recovered cases stands at 13645.

Of the new cases East Khasi Hills recorded four new cases and West Jaintia Hills one.

Of the 22 recovered cases, East Khasi Hills recorded 15 and Ri-Bhoi seven.

The state has so far recorded 13942 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The Director of Health Services said that the total number of persons tested till date is 3,54,157
out of which 3,40,251 persons tested negative.

Dr. War said that the total number of health care workers vaccinated till date is,
11605 who have been vaccinated in the first dose
and 91 in the second dose.

Meanwhile, the total number of frontline workers
vaccinated
for the first dose is 2323.
