Meghalaya records one more COVID-19 death, 25 new cases

Shillong, Mar 1: The State on Monday recorded one new COVID-19 case and another recovered from the virus.

According to Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War, the lone new case was that of a returnee and the recovered case is of a health worker.

Both the fresh and the recovered cases were recorded in East Khasi Hills district.

Dr. War informed that the active cases in the State stands at 17 and the total recovered cases are 13798

The active cases in East Khasi Hills district have come down but it is still the most affected with 13. The other district who have active cases are East Jaintia Hills – two, West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills one each.

Total persons tested till date Monday afternoon is 3,70,067 of which 3,56,104 tested negative for the virus.

The State has seen 13963 COVID-19 cases till date of which 148 persons have died.

The number of test conducted Monday afternoon is approximately 750. The number of entrants from outside of Meghalaya till Monday afternoon is 93,809.

The total number of health care workers vaccinated till date is 13815 (first dose), 3606 (second dose).

Meanwhile the total number of frontline workers vaccinated till Monday afternoon is 22793 (first dose).
