Meghalaya records two more Covid fatalities

Shillong, May 6: The state on Thursday recorded two more COVID-19 deaths taking the number of such cases to 193.

According to health authorities, Munni Ruddil Ahmed, 83 year-old male of Umsohphoh village in Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi was admitted to Civil Hospital Shillong on May 1. He was referred to Bethany Hospital and expired on May 5 at around 3:30 pm.

His cause of death was recorded as Acute ARDS with COVID Pneumonia with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

The second victim was one Aroti Das 50-year old female of Ichamati village, East Khasi Hills district. The victim expired at home on May 6 and when her sample was taken she tested positive for COVID-19.

The state’s health department also informed that so far a total of 2,07,680 citizens has been vaccinated of which 7927 were vaccinated on Thursday.
