Minerva Academy to set up football academy in Shillong in collaboration with Ryntih FC

Shillong, Jan 10: Minerva Academy and Ryntih Football Club will collaborate to set up a football Academy at Shillong, Diengpasoh.

Samran Syiem CEO of Ryntih Football Club said that all facilities will be available at this place.

According to Syiem facilities of Minerva Academy at Chandigarh will be replicated at the one to be set up in Shillong.

On January 9, an agreement was signed between Minerva and Ryntih whose foundation stone will be laid by Ranjit Bajaj.

Minerva also has a hockey and cricket academy.

According to Syiem, Minerva has seen the potential of the people of the State and was therefore willing to set up this academy.

“Meghalaya is a football hub and lot of talent is untapped,” Syiem said.

He also added that Ryntih felt the need to tie up with Minerva which is known for its track record and enable youth to achieve their dreams in the long run

Meanwhile, Harshit Tyagi general manager of Minerva Academy said that they were impressed by what Ryntih achieved in I League qualifiers who did so much with so less even as he added that they too share the same passion.

Despite so much of talent, Tyagi said, “We see only some from the northeast who plays in the higher leagues.”

According to him, in the centre of excellence will be constructed by Ryntih Football Club and they will have access to Minerva coaches and other facilities.

“We will help Ryntih Football Club in building youth teams and to excel at youth levels. We will have strategic plans with actual timelines,” Tyagi said.
