Shillong, Apr 3: Unknown miscreants on the wee hours of Wednesday hurled a petrol bomb on a police gypsy parked inside the Mawlai Police Station.
East Khasi Hills, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rituraj Ravi informed that five unknown miscreants entered inside the parking campus of Mawlai Police Station and hurled petrol bomb on a Police Gypsy Vehicle bearing Registration number ML02-0194 as a result of which the vehicle caught fire and suffered major damage.
According to him, the incident happened around 2:40 am.
Ravi informed that in this connection, a case has been registered at Mawlai Police Station vide case no. 35(04)2024 u/s120B/307/427/436/34 IPC R/W Sec. 3 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908 and Section 4 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.
The investigation in the case is under progress
