Shillong Sept. 14: The College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS conducted the 12 th Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony for the 18 th Batch of B.Sc. Nursing Students on 11 th September 2024. The theme of the ceremony this year being “Be the Light that Lightens the World” Director, NEIGRIHMS Prof. (Dr.) Nalin Mehta, was the Chief Guest for the ceremony and Prof. Dr. C. Daniala, Medical Superintendent, the Guest of Honour.
The 3 rd year B.Sc. Nursing students enthralled the audience with a melodious Welcome song to kick start the event and Mrs. JuleeMoni Bharali, SNA Advisor delivered the welcome address. This was followed by lighting of the ceremonial inaugural lamp by the dignitaries. Prof. Namita Singha, Vice Principal, College of Nursing highlighted the significance of the ceremony and the Florence Nightingale oath was administered by Prof. Nochovono Tase, Professor cum Principal, College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS.
Prof. (Dr.) C Daniala delivered the exhortation speech while the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Nalin Mehta, addressed the gathering with words of encouragement, highlighting the crucial role of Nurses in the present day healthcare system. The program ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Md. Hafiz Al Asad, Vice President, SNA.
