Shillong Oct 15: New Inspector General (IG) of the BSF Meghalaya Frontier, Hardeep Singh said that maintaining cordial relations with the border population is the first step towards having peaceful and crime-free border.
Singh has assumed charge as Inspector General (IG) and he succeeded Kuldeep Saini who retired from service after rendering 36 years of service.
Hardeep Singh joined this Frontier on promotion and posting from Jammu Frontier, BSF.
On taking over charge, the new IG emphasized on the co-operation of all concerned stake holders for an effective border management in the State.
Expressing his concern on maintaining cordial relations with the border population which is the first step towards having peaceful and crime free Border, Singh said, “the main task of the BSF is to create a sense of security among the border population and this will remain his first priority as Inspector General of Meghalaya Frontier.”
