Shillong, Oct 25: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Meghalaya today organised a program under the “Clean India Program” at Don Bosco Museum, Shillong.
The Clean India drive was carried out as part of the nationwide cleanliness drive.
Virendra Khatri, Director (Finance), NYKS, New Delhi, Head Quarter, State NYKS Officers and around 105 volunteers participated in the program today.
Under this program, the target set for the collection of plastic waste was 17720 kg for the state of Meghalaya for a single month. The numbers surpassed the target and remarkably 18083 kg of plastic waste was collected from all over the State.
Khatri and Atul Nikam congratulated all the Deputy Directors, District Youth Officers, Accounts, Program Assistants, NYKS and NSS Volunteers and all Youth club members/ leaders for carrying out the drive successfully.
The participants, officers, employees, volunteers and others, took a pledge for Clean India by all the officers, employees, volunteers and other participants.
Fr (Dr.) Denis Lalfela, Director, Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures (DBCIC), Nikam, State Director, NYKS Meghalaya, Sayyad Ali, State Director(I/C), NYKS, Assam, Gopajit Das, Media & Communication Officer, PIB Shillong, F. Rumnong State NSS Officer, Donavan Rapsang, Deputy Director, NYK Shillong, Sneha Shaw, ASO, were among the participants who attended the Clean India program.
