Shillong, Jun 18: The East Khasi Hills police have arrested one person on June 17 evening for illegal possession of narcotics.
According to East Khasi Hills, Superintendent of Police (SP), S. Nongtnger based on an intelligent input that one suspected person had received a consignment of illegal suspected narcotics, the ANTF East Khasi Hills and police from Madanrting police station immediately proceeded towards the residence of the suspect at Madanrting.
“During the search of the residence two kg of opium was recovered and seized in the presence of independent witnesses,†Nongtnger said.
The SP informed that in this connection, a case has been registered and one person has been arrested vide Madanriting police station case No. 77(06)2021 U/S 18 (c) /29 NDPS Act.
Investigation in to matter is on to ascertain more facts into the case.
