Passing out parade for 124 new Meghalaya police recruits held

Shillong, Oct 20: A total of 124 new recruits were inducted into the Meghalaya police today.

The new recruits who graduated today comprised of 116 males and 8 females.

These recruits underwent a rigorous basic training module for a duration of 44 weeks, which included training on maintenance of law and order, counter insurgency operations, and various other indoor and outdoor subjects.

The recruits who were awarded for the excellence during the training period were – Pentune R. Marak (best trainee in physical training), Jigash I. Sangma (best trainee in drill), Doloris Pariong (best trainee in outdoor subjects), Makri Dkhar (best discipline trainee), Davy John Suciang (best trainee in musketry) and Sporningstar Kharpuri (all round best trainee).

Meghalaya Director General of Police, R. Chandranathan who was the chief guest encouraged the trainees to keep on learning and acquiring the skills required for enforcing the law.

Chandranathan said police officials are more accountable as they are the enforcers of law.
