Police recovers IEDs from West Garo Hills

Shillong, Sep 10: The state police on Thursday night recovered two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from West Garo Hills district.

Police informed that based on information from sources regarding some hidden explosives, a team led by SDPO(S), SDPO(D) and Assistant. Commandant, 120 Bn CRPF have left for counter insurgency operations in Menhotchigre village area under Tikrikilla/Damal Asim police station jurisdiction.

Both IEDs have been disposed using booster charge, the splinters have been seized.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma stated that the recoveries were made as part of the police’s operations.

“We keep a track and control and ensure that people of the state are safe many operations and many such searches are going on based on information, intel collected in almost every districts,” Sangma said.
