Police still verifying input about GNLA regrouping in Garo Hills: DGP

HYC slams Govt for spending over Rs 4 crore on non-performing bodies

SHILLONG, MAY 16: Director General of Police (DGP) Dr LR Bishnoi on Tuesday said the state police are still verifying the input regarding the regrouping of the GNLA in Garo Hills region.

Speaking to reporters, Bishnoi said, “The input will remain as input till it is verified. Once the verification report is received at our hand then only I will be in a position to come and talk to you on this.”

“All the district SPs are verifying this input in their respective areas. Once verification is completed they will submit their report to us. We have not fixed any timeline as it may take time as some interior areas are there. They have to check and cross check from each and every remote area. I think within a week they will probably submit their reports,” he said.

“Once the reports are received from all the districts we will be in position to say what the authenticity of this input is,” he added.
