Prestone Tynsong asks HPC to be realistic in their demands

HPC welcome Govt's blueprint for relocation of 342 families of Sweepers' Colony

Shillong, May 11: Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday had a word of advice for the Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) who are demanding the government to provide 200 square meters of land to each of the 342 families in its revenue land in exchange for them parting with the land at Them Iew Mawlong.

The HPC also wants the government to construct these homes free of cost.

“You can demand anything but ultimately let us be realistic from both sides,” Tynsong said.

He said that the government will prepare a detailed report and will submit it to the HPC.

“Whether you like it or not…whether it is acceptable to you or not but from the government side we will work out responsibly towards a permanent solution on this issue,” Tynsong said.
