Shillong, Jul. 26: On July 26, police issued a lookout notice across all states and union territories for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of the Tura district council (MDC), Bernard N Marak alias Rimpu. Bernard has been absconding since a sex racket was busted at his farmhouse, resulting in the arrest of 73 people and the rescue of 5 minors.
The lookout notice issued by Meghalaya police under sections of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act, 1956, is in connection with a case of sex trafficking that occurred at the MDC’s farmhouse in February this year, where a minor girl was allegedly repeatedly raped by a man.
The lookout notice, which was distributed to all police stations across the country, mention that the absconding BJP leader has a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a district sessions court in Tura after he failed to surrender to police after his farmhouse was raided for prostitution and rave parties on the night of July 22.
