Shillong Aug 12: Meghalaya’s Ryntih Sports Club vowed to move forward with its vision, goals and objectives.
The statement from the club came after Delhi-based Sudeva FC won the bid for direct entry into the I-League this season.
Ryntih joined the race for direct entry into the I-League along with Sudeva FC and Vishakhapatnam-based Sreenidhi FC.
All the three clubs picked up the bid document and submitted the same to the AIFF for scrutiny.
While Ryntih’s name missed out, Sreenidhi FC were awarded the right to take part in the I-League from 2021-22 onwards.
The AIFF decided to invite bids for a new team in the I-League 2020-2021 after the exit of Mohun Bagan who merged with ISL outfit ATK to play in the ISL this season.
Ryntih had earlier expressed that they were fully prepared to play in the I-League, after submitting their bid documents.
“As most of you may have read and seen through social media outlets in their posts, the AIFF has announced the winners of the bidding process into the I League. But through this statement, the club wants to notify all its supporters and well wishers that the club has not received any official notification regarding the results,” Ryntih Sports Club said in a statement issued on Wednesday night.
“Nevertheless, regardless of the result, the club shall move forward with its vision, goals and objectives. We express our sincere gratitude to all of the club’s fans, followers and well wishers who have been with the club. We appeal to all our supporters to stand with the team through thick and thin upto the day that we achieve all of our dreams!” the statement added.
The AIFF Bid Evaluation Committee has chosen Sudeva FC after a meeting via video conference held on Wednesday.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a multinational professional services network of firms headquartered in London, are the independent auditors who go through the bid documents of each interested party and give their assessment to the Bid Evaluation Committee.
Ryntih is one of the football clubs in Shillong playing in the top football league of Meghalaya, the Shillong Premier League.
