Spike in new COVID-19 positive cases in Meghalaya, 270 tested positive

Three more COVID-19 deaths, 89 recoveries in Meghalaya

Shillong, Oct. 06: Meghalaya reported 270 new COVID-19 positive cases while 115 patients recovered from the viral infection on Tuesday.

One more COVID-19 death reported in the state taking the total fatality rates to 60.

With 270 new cases, the total COVID-19 cases to 7,037 which include 2,371 active cases, 4,606 persons who have recovered, and 60 deaths.

The new cases were 195 from East Khasi Hills district, 26 from West Garo Hills district, 03 from North Garo Hills district, 06 from  East Jaintia Hills district, 19 from Ri Bhoi district , 07 from South west Garo Hills, 10 from  West Jaintia Hills, 02 from East Garo Hills district and 01 each from  West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills district.

The 115 patients who have recovered on Tuesday include 71 from East Khasi Hills district , 04 from Ri Bhoi Hills district, 31 from West Garo Hills district, 03 from  South West Garo Hills district, 05 from East Jaintia Hills district, 05 from North Garo Hills district and 01 from East Garo Hills district.

Swab samples of 1,63061 persons have been sent for testing out of which 1,56024 samples tested negative and entrants 44554.
