Shillong, Jan 13: Meghalaya BJP members on Wednesday met the National president of the party, J. P. Nadda, state chief Ernest Mawrie informed.
Mawrie informed that during the course of the meeting, with Nadda, issues of alleged corruption in the two district councils of Jaintia Hills and Garo Hills were taken up with him.
The state unit president of the BJP also informed that the matter of alleged illegal transportation of coal was also taken up with Nadda.
“We submitted the documents that we had with us on the matters,” Mawrie said.
Meanwhile, there were also reports that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Shillong on January 23 for the plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC).
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that in case, Shah attends the plenary, he would take up the demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Meghalaya.
“In case there is a change in his programme then I will be making a tour to Delhi most likely before the 23rd of this month,” he said.
