Shillong, Jan 24: The state on Sunday recorded more recovered cases than fresh ones thus reducing the number of active Covid-19 cases and surging the recovered count.
Director of Health Service (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the state recorded five new cases and 16 recovered from the viral infection.
Of the five fresh cases – East Khasi Hills district recorded three and Ri-Bhoi district two, while of the 16 recoveries – East Jaintia Hills district recorded 10, East Khasi Hills district four, Ri-Bhoi district one and West Garo Hills district one.
The state now has 111 active cases and a total of 13475 have so far recovered from COVID-19.
A total of 2236 health workers have so far been vaccinated in the state since the campaign began nationwide on January 16.
Meanwhile, the East Khasi Hills district administration has extended the night curfew with effect from January 25 to January 31 from 11 pm to 5 am.
The district administration has also prohibited any assembly or gathering without due permission in all of East Khasi Hills with effect from January 25 to January 31 for timings falling between 5 am to 11 am.
The order also prohibits all forms of large public gathering and congregation including social, political, entertainment, academic, cultural, without permission from the office of the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills.
