Students can continue going to schools: Education Minister


Shillong Sept 30: Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui on Tuesday said that students of classes 9 to 12 can continue going to schools.

The Centre has given the power to the state governments to decide after October 15 on re-opening of schools and coaching institutions.

Students can visit and consult with their teachers till further orders.

He informed that the state government has already prepared how to move forward as far as re-opening of schools

“Nobody can really predict this COVID situation what it will be tomorrow or day after tomorrow. But once the Centre issued notification for re-opening of educational institutes, we will review the situation and take a decision accordingly,” Rymbui said.

He also informed that the final semester examination for under graduates and post graduates will be held as per the dates approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
